Supercop - 7:00 pm This is an awesome movie starring Jackie Chan as a detective who must infiltrate a dangerous drug... oh, who am I kidding, it's a Jackie Chan movie. We all know the plot - Jackie gets in trouble, kicks some serious butt in some phenomenal martial arts scenes, and nearly kills himself doing his own stunts! Hey, even if you don't like martial arts movies (i.e. you're a girl) you still might like this one because Jackie Chan movies are funny and the fight sequences are really amazing - almost like ballet. Also, we're going to be watching the original version of the movie (don't worry - it's dubbed, not subtitled) not the American version so even if you saw it in the theaters, you might want to check it out. I haven't seen this version but I think it has more of the Jackie Chan humor that they cut from the American version for some reason. |

The Matrix - 9:00 pm Well, I don't have to say much about this one because I'm sure most of you have seen it, but it's so cool that we've got to watch it again! Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne star in this awesome sci-fi cyber-thriller from the Wachawski brothers. It's got tons of actions, killer fight scenes, and groundbreaking special effects. We'll be watching the VERY hard-to-find LaserDisc version that some people say has even better sound and picture than the DVD release (although I doubt it makes that much difference on my low end home theater). Let's crank the volume on this movie - if the neighbors complain, I'll just move out! :) |
